Phase one of Project Egg launched in April 2006, hiding almost 10,000 green plastic Easter eggs (filled with artwork, comics, objets d'art and assorted secret goodies) to select cities.

Now, with phase two going into effect as of midnight, April 1, 2007, a similar batch of plastic eggs has been released into the wild - and could potentially be found anyplace nationwide throughout the United States.

Unlike phase one, however, phase two will not really be much of a 'scavenger hunt'. This is because the far-ranging distribution of the eggs over a far greater territory will make the odds of finding them much more remote. These eggs are likely to be found by chance and by fate, not as a result of any search.

But don't let that dissuade you from keeping your eyes open for those green eggs! They could literally be anywhere.
